  8. Collect as many formal recommendations as possible from internship contacts.

  10. Request informational interviews with staff at your worksite.
  11. Dress, speak, and act as the professional culture demands.
  12. Come early, leave late, and ask for more work.
  13. Do the “little things”.
  14. This is not a passive experience.
  15. Seek out role models.
  16. Tap into your peers’ networking systems.
  17. Leave your resume with everyone.
  18. Ask for an exit interview.
  19. Try to establish mentors.

The impression you leave behind should be that you are a good communicator (oral and written), you take initiative, you have a positive attitude and that you’re a team player.
