Welcome to an anthology of exemplary HWS student writing. Here you will find examples of student writing from a variety of academic disciplines and from a variety of assignment types.
Each student essay showcased here has been nominated by an HWS professor for its excellent quality. Each student essay also includes links to interviews with the professor and the student. Within the interviews you will find information about the actual assignment, the connection between the assignment and the course in general, and the process used by the student in completing the essay. As you discuss writing in class or work on completing an assigned essay, we encourage you to study these models of exemplary writing from HWS students.
For the convenience of those trying to investigate specific kinds of assignments, essay categories are provided, with examples listed below each one. Most essays include researched material and appropriate documentation format, but for the convenience of readers, an asterisk (*) is provided for those essays where researched material is part of the finished essay.
