VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Reunion Volunteers

Volunteers

Reunion is a time for reliving some of the best moments in our lives and re-igniting the HWS spirit. Reunion volunteers find their involvement with the planning and implementation of Reunion incredibly rewarding, and of course they love coming back to campus to attend. Reunion could not happen without the dedicated class volunteers.

Class Correspondents

Alumni and alumnae serve the important roles of class correspondents and regional club volunteers to ensure that the important friendships and memories made at Hobart and William Smith Colleges remain alive.

Alumni and Alumnae Councils

By representing the Colleges' 18,000 alumni and alumnae to the Colleges' administration, the Councils keep the voice of alumni and alumnae alive and involved in the future of HWS. Serving on special committees allows alumni and alumnae to use their special skills to advance the Colleges.

Admissions Volunteer Network (AVN)

Alumni, alumnae and parents provide a valuable resource for prospective students and their parents. These volunteers represent Hobart and William Smith Colleges at college fairs, conduct off-campus interviews, or speak with parents of prospective students by phone.  If you are interested in sharing your time with prospective students, please contact Mary Kerwick, Assistant Director of Admissions, Alumni/ae and Parent Volunteers, at 800-852-2256 or email at mkerwick@hws.edu more…

Career Services Volunteers

Parents, alumni, alumnae and others participate in panels and events sponsored by the Office of Career Services. They may share their experiences in the "real world" and career options. Volunteers take calls and e-mails from students asking about careers, geographic settings, graduate programs and more. Probably their most important contribution is to help place students in internships.

Parents Association

Hobart and William Smith parents develop close and lasting relationships with faculty members, administrators, fellow parents, and friends of their sons and daughters. In a very real sense, they are the Colleges' extended family. The Parents Association serves as a way for parents to become involved in the life of the Colleges.

VOLUNTEER

Hobart and William Smith alumni, alumnae, parents and friends contribute in many wonderful ways to the Colleges. They play active roles in career development, admissions, communications, programming, Reunion and the Colleges' fundraising.
