

Get to know members of the Administrative Advisory Committee (AAC). Below are brief profiles of AAC members.
Maggie Gladden has been the circulation supervisor at the Warren Hunting Smith Library since 2006. She is responsible for overseeing circulation desk activities, hiring and training student employees, scheduling circulation staff and student payroll. Her goal is to introduce more HWS staff to the newly renovated library and the services it provides. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Maggie resides in Geneva with her husband, Rob. They are the parents of two sons, Rob and Dan.
Since joining the Colleges in 1999, Beth Pier has worked in the Admissions Office as a receptionist/secretary and joined the Alumni House staff in 2002 as Coordinator of Acknowledgements. She has served as the Gift Accounting and Acknowledgement Administrator in Alumni House since January 2003. Beth has 2 children, Amanda who graduated in 2008 with an M.B.A. from Philadelphia University, and Eric, an Alfred University graduate who is now working as a graphic designer in New York City. She resides in Seneca Falls with her husband, Steve. Beth welcomes your suggestions and comments regarding issues to be brought to the attention of the AAC.
Kimberly Kochin has worked in higher education from the time she was a graduate student in Res. Ed at Mansfield University in PA. Kochin holds a Masters Degree in Arts Education and an undergraduate degree in studio/fine arts with emphasis in advertising and design with minors in philosophy and communications from Mansfield University. She was a 1st year RD at SUNY Brockport and a First Year Area Coordinator at St. John Fisher College before joining the HWS community as a Residential Education Area Coordinator for Theme Housing in 2004 then serving as Assistant Director of Residential Education before making the leap to Student Activities in 2006 where she enjoys assisting students with programs, bringing dynamic entertainment to the Colleges and helping the fraternity men strive for excellence. Recently Kimberly has become involved in Community projects such as Mussleman Arts and The Community Haunted House and the helping Coordinate the Making Strides Walk. She also heads up the Road trip series that collaborates with Intercultural Affairs and Global Education.
Deb Steward was appointed the director of William Smith athletics on Aug. 1, 2005. As athletics director, Steward oversees all aspects of William Smith’s intercollegiate athletic program, including its direction, development, scheduling, facilities, and financial management. Additionally, Steward supervises the Sport and Recreation Center, the Outdoor Recreation Adventure Program, the waterfront, and the wellness program.
David Ferguson grew up in Syracuse, studied in Boston and Israel, before graduating with his B.A. in theology from Wheaton College in Illinois. He continued studying religion at Duke University and completed a M.A. in higher education at Ball State University. David has worked as an Area Coordinator at Louisburg College and Morrisville State College. He joined the HWS Residential Education staff in 2008 and lives with the residents of Jackson, Rees, Potter, and Sherrill.
Chaplain Lesley Adams was ordained an Episcopal Priest in 1988, having earned her B.A. from Smith College, and her M.Div. from Harvard University. She joined the faculty at Hobart and William Smith in 1995 and serves as Chaplain for the Colleges’ community. She is the Episcopal Province II coordinator for ministry in higher education. She is also an affiliate of the Center for Progressive Christianity.
