Manager, Program Management Office
Information Technology Services

SUMMARY:

The Manager of the Program Management Office (PMO) coordinates processes that promote service delivery by the Information Technology Services to the Colleges. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer and as a member of the IT Services Leadership Team, this role provides oversight and coordination of multiple initiatives through the use of best practices in program, vendor and operations management. Primary areas of accountability include ensuring adherence to project lifecycle methodologies and building relationships with campus and external constituents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Program Management
    • Develops, promotes, implements, and facilitates project management processes, methodologies, and best practices, including program portfolio management and project tracking.
    • Directly involved in the IT Services customer engagement process by coordinating and coaching staff in customer relationship and project management practices.
    • Implements appropriate tools, processes, and policies to collect and report metrics on project/portfolio performance.
    • Responsible for the content management of IT Services document repositories and collaborative environments. This repository contains RFPs, project portfolio, and other performance metrics.
  • Vendor Management
    • Serves as primary focal point for vendor management and contract management.
    • Oversees procurement of technology related equipment, services, and solutions. Negotiates pricing and contracts for IT Services.
  • Operations Management
    • Assists with the development, management, and monitoring of the IT Services annual operational budget.
    • Collaborate with IT Services Leadership team and Business Office Controller in monitoring campus-wide inventory of technology related assets and capital goods.
    • Other responsibilities include: marketing strategies, long-range planning, professional networking and serving as a department liaison both on and off campus.
    • Coordinates related IT Services campus events.

SUPERVISOR:
This position reports to the Chief Information Officer as a member of the Information Technology Services leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Information Systems, or related degree and 5+ years of experience; or 10+ years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
  • Requires supervisory / managerial experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills are essential.
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills required.
  • Must be an effective project and resource manager and able to articulate project demands; recommend priorities to support groups and committees.
  • Ability to manage, motivate and create a work environment based on teamwork.
  • Demonstrated project management leadership, planning, facilitation and organizational skills.
  • Experience in a technology services or related field desirable
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects concurrently, and facilitate communications between teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines essential.
  • Familiarity with Project Management Professional (PMP), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), or Six Sigma concepts and principles.
