Lori Hoyt, the Counseling Center's secretary/receptionist, has worked on campus since 1970. She started working for dining services, but has worked in the Counseling Center for the past 23 years. Lori has seen the Counseling Center grow from its start in Smith Hall to its expansion and relocation in Hubbs Health Center. She enjoys helping people and assisting students, and often hears from graduates who want to share how far they have come in life. On her “own time” she is a self-taught artist. Painting with local artists and taking part in workshops has been an inspiration for her. Fox Run Winery features her watercolors of local landscapes and still-lifes, and offers them for sale. Lori says that painting water-colors and spending time outdoors is her “something more” in life. Her two young grandsons have recently added a new pleasure to her “own time.”
