Area coordinators are professionals generally with master's degrees in student personnel, higher education, counseling or a related field. General responsibilities include supervision of undergraduate staff of RAs; campus emergency response; safety, security, and facility issues for their area; on-going staff training and development; advising on personal matters; referrals to appropriate on-campus offices; adjudication of disciplinary matters; oversight of residence hall and campus-wide programming; and advising of student groups.
